Breach Likelihood Rankings
Companies ranked by crowd-predicted breach likelihood (Elo rating)
What is Elo? Learn more
Elo is a rating system originally developed for chess by Arpad Elo. It calculates the relative skill levels of players based on their game results against each other.
Here's how it works on Breachpool:
- Every company starts at 1500 Elo (the baseline)
- When you vote for Company A over Company B, A gains points and B loses points
- The amount gained/lost depends on the expected outcome
- Beating a higher-rated company = more points gained
- Beating a lower-rated company = fewer points gained
Over time, companies the crowd believes are more "breach-likely" rise to the top. It's like crowdsourced security anxiety, quantified.
